You might think any good pit beef in Maryland has to be found in or around Baltimore... that it's a closely guarded secret that doesn't travel throughout the state. You would be mistaken, and I hope you don't pass up Bayside Bull because of this line of reasoning! Because, it's GOOD! Better than good, honestly. The beef alone keeps me coming back, but I have to admit, the ham and turkey sandwiches are no less savory and delightful. Still, the beef is where it's at. Cons? Minor ones. They charge for raw onions on your sammich, and there isn't any dining space inside or out. It's pretty much a 100% takeaway spot (unless you eat in your car, of course!). That doesn't really take away from the experience, though. The fries are also a little pricey, but they are always made to order and very fresh! Always nicely salted too, as my experiences have gone. I can't stop myself from snagging a few out of the bag on the way home. (Heh, few... a few dozen maybe!) About the price, though. You get a TON of protein in your sandwich. So, a $10 entrée is really two meals, if you add a side of any kind. Shucks, two visits ago, I only got through the fries and had to save my sandwich for another day! They do give you a lot of fries for the cost. So, yeah, it's hard to find any flaws here, when you really think about it. The décor is fine, the service is usually great, and the food is exceptional. Hard to gripe. Give it a whirl and tell me I'm right about their pit beef! Trust me, you won't regret it.
Food was a little above average nothing amazing. Didn't like their tiger sauce but they had good fast service!
My fiancé and I met some family here for an early lunch. Service was fast, we ordered at the counter and by the time I gathered my drink and condiments the food was ready. We opted to sit outside at one of the picnic tables around the side of the building. I got a pit turkey with and an order of fries. It was some of the best pit turkey I've ever had. My fiancé got the pit beef and enjoyed it. The sweet tea was really good too. Will def return when we're in the area again.
Upgrading because this place is very consistent, and the amount of meat warrants the pricing. If you are in the business of some pit meats along with good sides, give this place a try and don't forget the onions and tiger sauce as well. Oh and I would be remised not to mention a single sandwich is enough meat for another sandwich and you can buy the meat by the pound!
SERIOUSLY the BEST pulled pork sandwich ever!!! I fell in love with this place when my husband took me here a few years ago. He reminisced about coming to Bayside Bull with his dad as a kid. The food is consistently fantastic. You cannot go wrong with any choice here! So lucky to have a bbq place like this in our area.
Decided on the way home to try this place and I am so glad I did. I ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches and 1 ham sandwich. Everything was delicious I ordered Mac and cheese and potato salad as well. The Mac and cheese is so good I wish I ordered another container of it. I will definitely be back, if you are hungry for lunch or dinner this is the place to go.
This is still the best pit beef in the area and better than any other fast food restaurants in Edgewater from Chick-fil-A to McDonald's so all the other garbage that they have there. The meat is succulent and delicious. It's very tender. We're happy to add col and onions and horseradish to your sandwich plus there are plenty of condiments that you can add yourself as well, highly recommend this restaurant
Amazing. Drove 20 minutes to get here, and it was well worth it! Pit beef, pulled pork, potato salad, beans, and mac and cheese were all fantastic. Can't wait to come again!
These Maryland boys still producing the best pit Carolina sandwich in the area. Yes i will have all the toppings on it and make sure you pump yourself the white sauce..Everytime i hit the Maryland area i hit this spot. Crazy good,
Holy hell. I'm not sure how we missed this place before because my husband and I love BBQ in any form and fashion. This is easily the best I've had locally, hands down, no question. I had the Carolina pulled pork, great flavor moist with a heavy vinegar base but they don't put any 'Carolina flavored BBQ sauce' on your sandwich like lots of places. Sandwich was a decent price and the price blew me away. My husband got a pit beef sandwich and he's a huge fan of Canopy (from his younger years) and admitted that this was the best pit sandwich he's had in years. Thinly sliced, perfectly medium rare, juicy and not overly fussy- the perfect sandwich. We also had the fries, they were delicious and fresh.
